New Family added!

New Family added alert!

With hundreds of insect families already in our catalogue, it is a rare and exciting occasion when we can offer a different family for the first time!

Just added today were the Agyrtidae, or primitive carrion beetles. These are a small family which are found in mostly temperate areas of the Northern Hemisphere and in New Zealand.

The subfamily Necrophilinae is attracted to decaying material including carrion, rotting fungi and dung, in the vicinity of temperate forests.
