Lycorma delicatula
Spotted lanternfly host plants include grapes, stone fruits, and Malus species, although its preferred host is Ailanthus altissima (Chinese sumac or tree of heaven). In its native habitat, spotted lanternfly populations are kept in check by specific species of parasitic wasps which are absent in North America, which is allowing this pests population to grow to epic numbers and expand the range unchecked.
